Publishing your algorithm publicly to the Algorithmia marketplace offers you the ability to earn royalties from developers making calls.
Royalties from the Hosted Algorithmia Marketplace
When publicly publishing your algorithm to the Algorithmia marketplace, you can specify how many Algorithmia credits you would like for us to collect each time your algorithm is called. The original algorithm developer will receive 70% of the royalties collected and 30% will go to Algorithmia to help with running the marketplace and providing the service.
The option to Cash Out earned credits appears once you’ve earned $100 or more worth of credits. When you are ready to cash out on the credits you’ve earned as an algorithm developer, we use currently PayPal to securely deliver your earnings.
Although you are able to specify the royalty amount when publishing new versions of your algorithm, please note that algorithms which are made available for free are not allowed to collect a royalty on minor version changes. You will be able to specify a royalty charge on major version changes. This ensures that developers calling the algorithm have predictable access to a particular version.
Royalties from Algorithmia Enterprise Customers
An additional option for earning royalties is for our enterprise customers who are interested in installing your algorithm in their private Algorithmia Enterprise instances that are installed in their internal corporate networks. If an Algorithmia Enterprise customer is interested in a particular algorithm from the marketplace, we may broker a an annual licensing agreement between the algorithm developer and the requesting customer.
